Mercy Medical CEO Thomas Cecconi to retire: 4 points on his healthcare career & outpatient experience

Canton, Ohio-based Mercy Medical Center CEO Thomas E. Cecconi is retiring after more than 14 years in the role, according to TheSurbanite.com.

Here’s what you should know:

1. He will maintain his CEO role until Aug. 1.

2. Thereafter, Mr. Cecconi will take on the chief executive emeritus. In this role, he will help in leadership transition at the hospital and its outpatient centers.

3. He helped expand Mercy’s outpatient centers during his tenure at Mercy.

4. From 1991 to 2002, Mr. Cecconi was the president and chief executive at Columbus, Ohio-based Doctors Hospital.
