56% of U.S. public disapproves of American Health Care Act: 5 insights

A fraction of Americans approve of the American Health Care Act, according to a Politico poll.

Here are five insights:

1. Only 21 percent of respondents reported supporting the legislation.

2. Fifty-six percent said they did not approve.

3. Americans generally are not satisfied with how President Donald Trump has tackled healthcare to date, with 66 percent saying they disapprove his handling of healthcare.

4. Thirty-two percent said they approve of Mr. Trump’s healthcare moves.

5. Almost half (49 percent) said they believe the law will harm the nation and 29 percent said it will help. Thirteen percent felt the law will not have an impact.
