American Association of Nurse Anesthetists honors Don Roesler — 3 things to know

The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists awarded Don Roesler, CRNA, its 2017 Daniel F. Vigness Federal Political Director of the Year Award.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Mr. Roesler was the 16th award recipient. The AANA established the award in 2001 to recognize the certified registered nurse anesthetist who made the “greatest strides” in advancing the organization’s healthcare agenda.

2. Mr. Roesler worked with the late Mr. Vigness and received the award in memory of his friend.

He said, “Receiving the award named in honor of my mentor and friend, whose guidance, leadership, and knowledge nurtured my interest in lobbying, is a very humbling experience,” before thanking the entire South Dakota Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

3. Mr. Roesler has been a nurse anesthetist for more than 30 years.
