Provo, Utah-based Revere Health gastroenterologist Chad Kawa, MD, gave several local residents free colonoscopies for National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, the Herald Extra reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Dr. Kawa worked with several other providers and healthcare organizations to set up the free screenings and collect donated materials and services.

2. Revere Health said it would partner with patients if follow-up care was needed.

3. Dr. Kawa estimated 15 to 20 patients would receive care.
