Greenville Health System to open ASC in April: 5 key notes

Greenville (S.C.) Health System plans to open a surgery center in April, according to a Go Upstate report.

Here are five things to know:

1. The new facility will be 4,120 square feet and include two operating rooms.

2. Services at the multispecialty surgery center will include general surgery, gastrointestinal procedures, podiatry, pain management and ophthalmology.

3. Greenville Hospital System received approval from the Spartanburg Commission of Public Works to include a six-inch water line connected with a line on the adjacent street for fire protection, according to the report.

4. The surgery center will be constructed with the ability to grow in the future.

5. Greenville Hospital System opened an eye institute last year in Spartanburg as well.
