Valeant CEO talks company’s strategy to bolster revenue & more — 3 GI companies making waves

Various gastroenterology-focused companies made the news this past week.

Here are three to note:

Laval, Canada-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals CEO Joe Papa said the company is focusing on increasing its revenue and paying down debt at the New York City-based RBC investor conference.

Caesarea, Israel-based LifeBond is enrolling patients in the United States and Western Europe for its LifeSeal Surgical Sealant’s IDE clinical trial. The gastrointestinal-facing sealant provides reinforcement and minimizes staple-line leakage.

Little Falls, N.J.-based Cantel Medical Corp. agreed to purchase Australia-based distributor CR Kennedy & Co.’s endoscopy business. The distributor’s assets consist of Cantel’s Medivators-branded products, which offer infection prevention solutions for endoscope reprocessing and endoscopy procedures.
