Cigna CFO Thomas McCarthy retiring: 3 key notes

Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna CFO Thomas McCarthy announced he will retire at midyear 2017, Reuters reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Eric Palmer, Cigna’s CFO of global health, will replace Mr. McCarthy. Cigna immediately promoted Mr. Palmer to deputy chief financial officer after the announcement.

2. Cigna added Michael Triplet, Alan Muney and Christopher HOcevar to its enterprise leadership team.

3. Mr. McCarthy gave no reason for his retirement to Reuters.
