2. John Hopkins implemented enhanced recovery after surgery protocols in 2013. It has seen a 1.5 day reduction in length of stay, $1,500 in cost savings and reduced complication rates.
3. Michael Rosen, PhD, associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine, said, “With the success of ERAS at our hospital, we are excited to share this approach with other hospitals. This will be an important step in improving patient care throughout their surgery process.”
