Here’s what you should know.
1. Gov. Kasich wants Republicans to allow states that expanded Medicaid to retain the expansion, unless Republicans develop a viable alternative.
2. Gov. Kasich told CNN, “We cannot turn our back on the most vulnerable. We can give them the coverage, reform the program, save some money, and make sure that we live in a country where people are going to say, ‘at least somebody’s looking out for me.'”
3. Under Gov. Kasich’s tenure, the state expanded its Medicaid program, covering nearly 700,000 new beneficiaries.
