1. The survey found the average provider-patient relationship totaled 9.4 years.
2. Eighty-two percent of those polled reported having an ongoing relationship with their physician.
3. Of those surveyed, 78 percent said a long-term provider-patient relationship is important.
4. Forty-one percent said it is more challenging to maintain an ongoing relationship with a physician than significant other.
5. Forty-three percent said they want their provider to have a sense of humor.
6. Twenty-six percent said providers’ appearances were important.
