Healthcare Leadership Council elects Cardinal Health CEO George Barrett to board

The Healthcare Leadership Council will now include Cardinal Health Chairman and CEO George Barrett, according to a Drug Store News report.

The council includes members from companies and organizations across healthcare. Mr. Barrett was elected by the council members to spend two years on the board. The council engages in advocacy with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid reform, health insurance marketplaces, interoperability and healthcare innovation.

Mr. Barrett became Chairman and CEO of Cardinal Health in 2009.
