ASC Patient Satisfaction Excellence Continues With High Marks

A release of national patient satisfaction scores spanning the past year confirms that patients are extremely confident in the care they receive in an ASC and highly likely to recommend the ASC, according to statistics reported from ASC benchmarking firm CTQ Solutions.

For the fourth consecutive quarter ending Q1 2010, based on over 200,000 patient responses, the industry’s two primary patient loyalty indicators — confidence in care and the degree to which a patient would recommend an ASC — maintained scores of 95.0 or higher, out of a possible 100.

Three nursing attribute measures (knowledge and competency; courtesy; and concern for comfort) were specifically cited as the three leading measures in the 25-30 most common ASC benchmarks.

Accordingly, Paul Faraclas, president and CEO of CTQ, noted that, “Representing over 200,000 ASC patient responses across all demographics and specialties, ASC nurses have something to be extremely proud of.”.

For the 30 metrics most widely-adopted in ASCs, scores ranged from national averages of 88.7 to 96.7 during the past four quarters, with an overall average score of 93.1. In particular, the clinical components of care delivery were applauded.
