Here are five things to know:
1. Palmetto GBA changed its LCD to align with the AGA guideline recommendations on Lynch syndrome.
2. The LCD coverage used to limit testing to patients who were 70 years old or younger. Under the new LCD coverage, there is no exclusion based on age.
3. The new coverage went into effect on Oct. 13, 2016.
4. The AGA’s Coverage and Reimbursement Subcommittee wrote a letter to drive this coverage change.
5. Palmetto GBA provides coverage in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
