1. The survey found 84 percent of patients utilize online reviews for physician evaluations.
2. Seventy-seven percent of patients read online reviews to select a new physician.
3. Of those surveyed, 47 percent of patients would choose an out-of-network physician if he or she had better reviews than an in-network physician — if the two physicians had similar qualifications.
4. Six percent of patients write negative reviews on sites.
5. Of those surveyed, 60 percent note it’s “very” or “moderately” important for physicians to engage in online reviews with responses.
