AmSurg creates training program to certify staff in scope reprocessing: 4 notes

1. The program requires staff who reprocess endoscopes between gastroenterology procedures to complete rigorous training and demonstrate a detailed understanding of the highly technical steps associated with the process.

2. Since its launch more than 1,000 healthcare professionals have enrolled in the program.

3. The healthcare field has become increasingly focused on endoscope reprocessing. The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation recommended that all staff processing endoscopes complete a series of certification exams.
