Investigators removed several boxes of medical records and computers from Best Care on May 20 and arrested at least two employees, according to the report.
Best Care was paid by Metropolitan Health Plan to collect blood samples from toddlers and infants, which were then sent to a third party for analysis. Last years, officials from Hennepin County discovered that the number of samples sent fell far below the number Best Care billed for, according to the report.
Detectives from the Minneapolis Police Department also discovered that Best Care had inflated the expertise level of nurses used for home visits so they could bill at higher rates, according to the report.
Company owners have denied any wrongdoing.
