Dr. Maher’s clinical interests include fatty liver disease and hepatotoxicity with a focus on drug-induced liver injury and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. At the liver center, Dr. Maher’s experiments focus on dietary sugar and saturated fat. She has authored and co-authored more than 75 research articles.
Dr. Maher earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., and completed her residency at Duke University Medical Center. She underwent her gastroenterology fellowship at UCSF.
