A majority of Americans support a single-payer healthcare system, based on a recent Gallup poll, according to The Hill.

1. The poll found many Americans back a federally funded healthcare system offering insurance to all Americas.

2. Sen. Bernie Sanders has pushed the proposal as part of his campaign platform.

3. Forty-one percent of Republicans support the proposal, and 16 percent support the Affordable Care Act.
