Here are three things to know:

1. Allison Gilmore, principal data scientist for healthcare with Menlo Park, Calif.-based Ayasdi, said many providers are facing the need to adjust to correctly report the data.

2. Ayasdi develops advanced analytics and software for claims-denial management. Its applications can extract denial and claim trends from large datasets and recoup potentially millions of dollars in lost revenue.

3. ICD-10’s two main challenges are the speed with which new trends arise and a negative cause-and-effect pattern within code analysis.
