Olympus launches updated GI benchmarking: 3 notes

Olympus launched the newly enhanced Olympus GI Benchmarking product.

Here are three notes:

1. The initial benchmarking product helped in developing GI-specific metrics for the industry.

2. After 10 years of collecting data, Olympus has retooled and customized the benchmarking product.

3. Olympus is also offering complimentary subscriptions to the new product to qualified GI facilities.

“GI endoscopy centers are commonly performing repetitive services where real gains can be achieved by focusing on efficiency,” said Amanda Bruemmer, RN, BSN, benchmarking services manager for Olympus’ Medical Systems Group. “Operational metrics such as length of stay, procedural costs, reportable events and type and amount of equipment can help facility managers know how they stack up against peer facilities and pinpoint areas for improvement.”
