PinpointCare, DuPage Medical Group expand relationship to manage risk-based contract payments — 3 observations

PinpointCare, a secure, cloud-based care coordination platform that connects all of a patient’s providers, recently enhanced its collaborative relationship with Chicago-based DuPage Medical Group to manage payments for the physician organization’s Blue Cross Blue Shield value-based care insurance program and for Medicare Advantage.

Here are three observations:

1. Under the partnership, PinpointCare will also handle data management and commercial services related to the payment plans.

2. DuPage Medical Group was an early adopter of Medicare’s Bundled Payments for Care Improvement initiative and has been using PinpointCare’s care coordination platform to manage CMS orthopedic bundles as well as its risk-based contracts since June 2015.

3. In August 2015, DuPage Medical Group partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois on a new value-based model called BCBSIL Practice Advance, a care model that focuses on physician engagement to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective care.
