1. The Colorado Attorney General’s investigators have recovered more than $3 million in Medicaid payments that were incorrectly billed by the eight anesthesiology groups.
2. The following were among the groups hit by the probe, and the amounts they were asked to return:
• Banner Greeley (Colo.) Anesthesia: $2.1 million
• Longmont (Colo.) Anesthesia: $155,014
• Eastern Plains (Colo.) Anesthesia: $85,926
• Colorado Anesthesia Group in Vail, Colo.: $68,635
• Alta Anesthesia in Cortez, Colo.: $29,100
• Glenwood Springs (Colo.) Anesthesiology: $16,006
3. No charges were filed, nor did the providers pay any fines.
4. The Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman stated that the over-payments were “violations of state law and Medicaid rules.”
