Here are four key points:
1. The partnership went into effect on March 1.
2. Through the partnership, SCA will operate three locations in Florida’s central east coast and will align the company with 13 additional physicians.
3. Merritt Island Surgery Center offers general surgery, gynecology, pain management, plastic surgery, orthopedic, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, dermatology and neurosurgery services.
4. SCA operated 193 surgical facilities and is in partnership with nearly 2,800 physicians as of Dec. 31, 2015.
“We are thrilled to add another value-focused access point for surgical services to our network on the Space Coast,” said Rena Courtay, a vice president of SCA. “With the addition of the Merritt Island Surgery Center, our growing network is now poised to collaborate with health plans and employers to reduce costs of surgical care for Space Coast residents.”
