Here are five key notes:

1. The website lists prices for more procedures than in the past as well as dental care and prescription drugs. There are 31 new medical procedures along with 35 brand-name drugs and 30 generic drugs listed. Sixteen dental procedures are featured on the site.

2. The original site was launched in 2007 and redesigned several times since then. The site received $1 million in grants from the federal Department of Health and Human Services in 2013.

3. The updated website also includes additional consumer information on the quality of care at hospitals and clinics in addition to the “Guide to Health Insurance.”

4. Consumers can access the website on tablets and mobile devices to compare infection rates, patient experience and readmissions at hospitals as well as pricing.

5. The cost data on the website is drawn from claims paid by health insurance providers and the price of care varies; colonoscopies at Concord Endoscopy Center are $1,551 while at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center they’re listed as $5,075.
