76% Americans agree physicians should utilize digital technology for patient records — 5 takeaways

In a Regina Corso Consulting survey, nearly 76 percent of respondents reported they agree all physicians should use digital technology for patients’ records, according to News-Medical.

The survey polled 1,011 U.S. adults 18 and older.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Nearly 47 percent of respondents said they would change physicians, and go to one who used digital technology.

2. Of respondents aged 55 and older, merely 25 percent reported they would switch physicians to one who utilizes digital technology.

3. Of respondents between 19 and 29 years, 55 percent said they would switch physicians to one who used digital technology.

4. Eighty-seven percent said the healthcare industry needs to implement better security before digital technology is universally adopted.

5. More than half (59 percent) said healthcare’s dependence on digital technology automates medical care too much.
