Congressman Dr. Andy Harris endorses Dr. Ben Carson: 3 things to know

Representative Andy Harris, MD, (R-Md.) has endorsed Ben Carson, MD, for president, according to a report by The Hill.

Here are three things to know:

1. Dr. Harris is a trained anesthesiologist, and he previously served in the Navy Reserve medical unit. He also served as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

2. Dr. Harris provides Dr. Carson’s struggling campaign with its first official congressional endorsement.

3. Dr. Carson also provided care at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

“As a physician, veteran, Congressman and member of the House Freedom Caucus, I am proud to endorse Dr. Carson,” said Dr. Harris said in a statement.
