Avicenna ASC achieves accreditation: 5 key notes

Avicenna Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bronx, N.Y., completed a successful accreditation survey.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted a survey on Avicenna Ambulatory Surgery Center earlier this year. Here are five things to know about the ASC:

1. The surgery center includes valet parking, dedicated lounges and patient tracking to allow family and friends to follow patients through the center.

2. There are nine physicians associated with the center.

3. Specialties at the center include orthopedics, podiatric surgery, gastroenterology and urology as well as interventional pain management.

4. The center’s administrator is Shahriar Daneshvar, CASC. The nursing director is Angela Wilson, RN.

5. The surgery center was built in partnership with Merritt Healthcare.
