Here are three things to know:
1. Dr. Morgan is a physician from Windsor-Essex County and the first gastroenterologist to receive the honor outside of a major teaching center since the award was launched in 1997.
2. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Morgan has worked on several clinical trials for new drugs and treatments for irritable bowel syndrome.
3. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s medical school and has been active in several area hospitals, servicing as president of the medical staff, chief of gastroenterology and chief of medicine.
