GI physician leader to know: Dr. David Estores of University of Florida Health

David S. Estores, Jr., MD, is director of endoscopy and an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at University of Florida Health. He is a fellow of American Gastroenterological Association and a member of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Estores’ clinical and research interests include foregut or upper gastrointestinal tract;
swallowing disorders involving complex strictures of the esophagus and post-surgical or post-radiation for head and neck and esophageal malignancies; complex gastroesophageal reflux disease and Barrett esophagus; eosinophilic esophagitis; and esophageal dysmotility presenting as dysphagia. His research work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed publications, including Current Problems in Surgery and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Estores earned his medical degree at the University of the Philippines and completed his residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. He completed his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
