Dr. Lawrence Lavine travels to Guatemala on medical mission trip — 4 quick facts

Lawrence Lavine, MD, will serve as the chief anesthesiologist on a medical mission trip to Guatemala, according to a Northwest Herald report.

Here are four quick facts:

1. The trip was organized by HELPS International, which has been sending medical teams to rural Latin America since 1988.

2. Dr. Lavine practices at Integrated Health in Crystal Lake, Ill.

3. He will oversee three other anesthesiologists on the trip.

4. In addition to anesthesiologists, the team includes include general practitioners, gynecologists, plastic and eye surgeons. They will perform 150 scheduled cases.
