GERD experts discuss Stretta at Digestive Disease Week — 3 highlights

GERD experts weighed in on their experiences using Stretta Therapy to treat patients suffering from GERD during a presentation at Digestive Disease Week 2015.

Here are highlights from the discussion:

1. Experts discussed the use of Stretta in GERD after bariatric surgery; Stretta in treating laryngopharyngeal reflux; and Stretta for GERD after anti-reflux surgery.

2. In all three scenarios Stretta therapy proved successful.  

3. Additionally, according to a Mederi Therapeutics infographic, 30 percent of patients, who are refractory to PPIs, don’t get complete relief and are concerned about long-term medications. Also, 42 percent of anti-reflux surgery patients have GERD recur after 10 years.
