UAMS considers expansion and ASC

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock is considering expanding their 10-story medical center, according to Arkansas Business.com, who report that the Affordable Care Act has worked well for the hospital.

The hospital will hire a firm to conduct a “financial feasibility study” to figure out the cost of expansion above the ER, as well as to look into the cost of constructing an ambulatory surgery center on an 11.3 acre space, according to the report.

The findings of the report are expected to be ready at the end of the summer.
