Dr. Fennerty focuses on gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus and Helicobacter pylori. He serves as editor-in-chief NEJM Journal Watch Gastroenterology and as associate editor of Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He was a founding editor of Reviews in Gastroenterological Disorders and Journal of Medicine. He has published more than 300 papers, book chapters and abstracts, in journals such as American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Fennerty earned his medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson.
