Hoag Memorial invests in surgery center

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has invested in Newport Bay Surgery Center, an ophthalmology center.

The surgery center is a three-OR center opened in 2006. It has more than 35 physicians on staff and performs more than 5,000 procedures each year, according to the report.

The center is the second in which Hoag has invested with practice management company Sovereign Healthcare, according to a news release.
