Donations have poured in from area residents, medical supply companies and other healthcare providers. Efforts to collect supplies were led by Marcy Sasso, director of operations at the center.
The donations — which include surgical gloves, IVs, oxygen masks, sutures and syringes — were flown to Haiti over the weekend and were distributed to a field clinic working with Inspire Haiti, a nonprofit organization that frequently sends doctors to Haiti. The ASC will send its second plane-load of supplies this weekend, says Ms. Sasso.
