New Study Confirms Value of Stretta as Middle of the Road GERD Therapy

A new study published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology examines Stretta and its role as a safe, effective treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease.

The study examines results from more than 35 publishes studies, including a 10-year follow-up study. The study found that Stretta is an effective therapy that fills the gap in GERD treatment between medications and surgery. The procedure results in:

•    Effective symptom control in patients who were previously PPI dependent or exhibited poor response to PPIs
•    Improved acid sensitivity and decreased tissue compliance

Stretta is also the least expensive alternative to medical therapy, according to the study.
