63% of physician practices on the hunt for new practice management software

More than half of physician practices, 63 percent, are replacing existing practice management software, according to a survey from medical practice resource group Software Advice.

Here are five statistics on what practice management methods prospective physician practice buyers are currently using.

•    Commercial medical software: 55 percent
•    Paper/manual methods: 21 percent
•    Billing service: 15 percent
•    Manual methods and software: 8 percent
•    Proprietary system: 1 percent
