The new rule went into effect April 15 and ASCAI strongly opposes it. The CON board did not send out email about the data requirement until June 27. The new rule includes a section limiting ASCs to surgical specialties performed prior to Jan. 1, 2014 and centers are required to submit proof of licensure and specialties.

There are additional steps multispecialty centers can take found at the ASCAI website.
