Ensuring Good Outcomes for Outpatient Anesthesia

At the 12th Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven Conference + Future of Spine in Chicago on June 14, David Paly, MD, board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology at South Sound Neurosurgery Brain and Spine Center in Puyallup, Wash., discussed ensuring good outcomes for outpatient spine surgery.

To help ensure good outcomes related to outpatient spine surgery anesthesia, Dr. Paly suggested limited the number of anesthesia providers and closely review charts of all medication records to ensure patients are safe to undergo surgery.

“Make sure that by the time the patient gets there, there are very few suprises,” he said.
