The Joint Commission has released an infographic guide on anesthesia and sedation for explaining the processes to patients.

The infographic includes details on different types of anesthesia and sedation, a checklist of actions to complete before anesthesia and sedation and a checklist of things to do and things to avoid following anesthesia and sedation. It is part of The Joint Commission’s Speak Up initiative, which helps patients engage in their care.
