Traditional fee-for-service payment models operate at most medical practices, according to the 2014 Staff Salary Survey released by Physicians Practice.

The survey includes responses from nearly 1,400 physicians.

When asked what kinds of payment models operate in their practices, respondents reported the following:

•    Traditional fee-for-service — 89.9 percent
•    Direct pay/cash only — 14.6 percent
•    Concierge/membership — 2.8 percent
•    Other — 5.8 percent
