The ASC would feature three operating rooms, and the medical office building would house physician offices, according to the report.
Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem is opposed to the ASC saying that there is no need for another outpatient facility in the community. Although the rooms would primarily support inpatient surgeries, they would also be used to meet community outpatient surgery needs, according to the report.
No expected date for the state’s decision was included in the report.
