The iStent was the smallest medical implant ever when it received FDA approval in 2012. Dr. Haverly began to use the implant last fall, according to the report. The iStent is designed to help fluid drain from the eye to reduce pressure and the risk of blindness associated with glaucoma.

Saint Vincent Surgery Center is a freestanding facility where physicians also perform LASIK procedures, laparoscopic procedures, breast biopsy, liposuction, tonsillectomy and sinus surgery.
