The New York State Department of Health has recommended approval for the $2.7 million project. The ASC would include four operating rooms and offer procedures in specialties including orthopedics and gastroenterology.
The proposal has sparked opposition from several neighboring hospitals and health systems, including Catholic Health. Catholic Health projects that the center could cause its facilities to lose anywhere from $3.3 million to $6.5 million a year once the new ASC opens.
