Around 52 percent of the respondents said they’ve switch from employed to self-employed situations, compared to 29 percent who went from private practice owners to hospital employment. Among the self-employed physicians, 65 percent reported satisfaction with their current practice situation.
Only around 9 percent of the physicians who switched from employment to private practice say they are unhappier now, compared with 25 percent of physicians who switched from private practice to hospital employment.
