CMS: Medicare Fee-for-Service ICD-10 Testing Approach

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has announced a four-pronged approach to prepare internally and ensure the readiness of Medicare Fee-For-Service providers for ICD-10 implementation.

The approach includes:

•    CMS internal testing of its claims processing systems
•    Provider-initiated Beta testing tools
•    Acknowledgement testing
•    End-to-end testing
