The report includes data from a survey that polled 413,386 U.S. physicians. Around 31,400 physicians were from 25 specialty areas. The fieldwork was conducted by Medscape from Oct. 16 to Dec. 4, 2013.
When asked whether they take supplements, respondents reported the following:
• Of anesthesiologists aged 46 years and older, 62 percent reported taking supplements as compared to 51 percent of those younger than 46 years.
• Sixty-five percent of female anesthesiologists report taking supplements, whereas only 57 percent of male anesthesiologists report the same.
