New Jersey ASCs Make $2.6B Economic Impact

A 2009 New Jersey economic impact study shows ambulatory surgery centers had an economic impact of around $2.6 billion.

At the time of the study, the state had more than 6,000 full-time equivalent individuals employed at ASCs and the average ASC incurred more than $4 million in total operating expenses. The total statewide expenditure impact of the ASC sector was $2.56 billion after applying the ASC multiplier, according to the report.
