ASA Committee to Conduct Pilot on Company Model Arrangements

The American Society of Anesthesiologists announced that the ASA Committee on Practice Management will be conducting a three-month pilot to gather information on company model and similar types of arrangements.

The ASA is working against arrangements like the company model, in which anesthesiologists are often forced into accepting a contract or employment arrangement that may involve fee-splitting or kickbacks.

The pilot will run from Nov. 1, 2013 to Jan. 31, 2014.
