Mr. German discussed TASCS’s support of adding procedures to the Medicare ASC-approved procedure list, as many are currently safely performed in ASCs and reimbursed by commercial payers. Many of the new procedures involve spine care.
The organization also supports replacing the Consumer Price Index ASC payment update with a market basket index, the same tool used to update hospital outpatient department reimbursement.
